In January of 2018 Bryan Churchey and Grady Wise became the new owners of our club and with that came an infusion of purpose, passion, optimism, and belief that Black Bear Lacrosse Club would help improve the local lacrosse community and culture. Both coaches share a vision of a travel club that supports the local recreation youth programs in the area.
What separates Black Bear from every other club is the quality coaches our club provides across the program. Black Bear is the first club in our area to hire current and former High School Varsity Head Coaches for all teams. Black Bear looks to give our families and players what they desire most: Passionate, Enthusiastic, Knowledgeable Coaches who come from the same communities our kids come from.
Under the strong leadership of Coach Churchey and Coach Wise, Black Bear Lacrosse Club is built on purpose, passion, optimism, and a belief that every team has the opportunity to get the quality coaching every family desires.
Since Bryan and Grady have taken over Black Bear they have been able to built a Culture of what they call “Team First Lacrosse” among their players. They have established the “Cubs Program” for 2nd-4th grade players with a focus on building a LOVE for the game of lacrosse in their youngest players. They also begin to develop Championship Caliber teams that are built around the culture they established:
